Bring our Kicking Horse Coffee brand to the world through exciting strategic innovation projects. Help distill our strong foundation of sustainability initiatives into a consumer-led sustainability strategy and communication plan. You will work with our marketing team to develop and execute strategic plans, analyze insights, and provide support to our sales and marketing teams. You will lead cross functional teams to ensure our priority projects stay on track. Using your smart-ass branding skills, insight experience, intentional planning, and a hint of cheekiness, you will be responsible for the following:


Brand, Innovation & Sustainability Strategy and Development

  • Contribute to the development and execution of disruptive brand, innovation and sustainability strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Develop and own a 3–5-year pipeline of innovation and expansion opportunities (i.e. new products, new channels, new markets, etc.).
  • Lead innovation projects from start-to-finish, engaging internal and external stakeholders along the way to deliver kick-ass results.
  • Lead sustainability communication planning including evergreen platform development, new product launch campaigns and integration with brand communications.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining brand guidelines to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Inspire and motivate a matrixed project team to deliver against key priorities, ensuring alignment and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Support the overall marketing strategy by coordinating with internal teams and external partners including collaboration with Lavazza North America and Headquarters.

Agency Management

  • Write clear and focused briefs that will inspire our agency teams to deliver strategically sound and remarkable creative/communications.
  • Lead packaging design and development from brief to final proof approvals.
  • Collaborate with the internal marketing team and external agency team to plan and execute campaigns across various channels (digital, traditional, social, etc.).
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and provide insights for optimization.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, industry trends, and market conditions, drawing insights to inform marketing strategies and plans.

Budget Management

  • Assist in developing and managing marketing budgets.
  • Monitor expenditures, ensure cost-effectiveness, and provide financial insights for budget optimization.


  • Education in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, within the CPG industry, working on well-known and loved brands; preference will be given to candidates who have led both brand and innovation strategy and execution.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, consumer behavior, and market trends.
  • Proven experience in new product development, leading all stages from concept to execution.
  • Exposure to sustainability initiatives would be considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience with market research tools and techniques (i.e. Nielsen, Precima).
