WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Reporting to our Director of Quality & Safety, you will be maintaining and improving quality and food safety programs. You will get to work with some incredibly kick ass people across departments, collaborating to ensure we are compliant with all regulatory and certification guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with team members and external partners to continuously improve food safety and quality programs, ensuring alignment with FSSC22000, supporting the external auditing process and developing internal guidelines to maintain compliance.
- Be a subject matter expert for all departments on the implementation and maintenance of the required actions for our Food Safety Management System (based on ISO 22000).
- Develop, update, and work within the overall organizational policy and guidelines to ensure a food safe and quality product.
- Facilitate compliance with food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Support leaders, staff, and QA Champions with training, troubleshooting, and technical resources and chair the QA Champion meetings.
- Coordinate food safety and quality training needs for all KHC staff.
- Supervise and support our Quality Control Technicians with product testing and data analysis.
- Take on the role of internal auditor for all our internal food safety and quality audits.
- Participate in consumer complaint and nonconformance investigations, document the investigation process and implement corrective actions.
- Support food safety culture throughout the company to further develop engagement and awareness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with food safety programs and adhering to industry certification guidelines through program development and auditing.
- Knowledge and experience ensuring alignment with CFIA and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of ISO (or other related) management systems, and product testing and data analysis.
- Formal education or training in food safety including knowledge with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Plan (HACCP), or Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certifications.
- Experience in research, analysis, interpretation and implementation of food safety and quality assurance regulations, programs, documentation, and process improvement.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office. - Desire and willingness to share knowledge and build capacity in others, support onboarding and training.

OTHER INFORMATION
- This is an onsite position located in Invermere, BC. Relocation support is available.
- This is a full-time, permanent position in our Quality & Safety department.
