Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Baristas to join our vibrant café team for the summer season! We are new (2024) cafe in Radium Hot Springs, serving high-quality cafeine from award winning Monogram Coffee (light-medium roast) and housemade organic food. We make our own syrups, nut milks and all our food. We serve beer and wine on our patio, which boasts great mountain views.

The ideal candidate will be available from MAY to SEPTEMBER or OCTOBER or longer, have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, light food preperation and maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation:

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Steaming Milk and pouring basic latte art.
Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment efficiently.

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items and beverage options.
Ensure a positive customer experience by addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
Sales and Promotions:

Promote daily specials, seasonal beverages, and loyalty programs to enhance customer engagement.
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness in the café area, including workstations, dining areas, and equipment.
Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Team Collaboration:

Contribute to a friendly, positive and team-based work environment.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Food Safe
Serving It Right (BC Liquor)
Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred but not required.
Strong passion for coffee and knowledge of brewing techniques is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
