Visitor Services Coordinator
Tourism Radium & Valley Visitor Services is seeking a year-round Visitor Services Coordinator to lead our busy visitor services team and support tourism industry development in Radium and throughout the Columbia Valley. The Visitor Services Coordinator leads day to day operations of the Radium Visitor Centre. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, be a good team leader and have a strong knowledge of the activities and experiences in the local area.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the visitor services team through supervision, scheduling and acting as first point of contact for partners and business owners
- Provides visitor information through in-person, digital and phone-in services to promote things to see and do, activities and events across the Columbia Valley
- Liaise with local business owners, tourism operators and non-profit organizations to best support business referrals
- Support and lead events and activities for residents, visitors and local business partners
- Gather information and develop new resources from across the Columbia Valley to support engagement and delivery of visitor information and travel services
- Supports destination development activities
Experience & Education:
High school completion or post secondary diploma in business or tourism management preferred. Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or customer service position. Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and social media. Strong research, reporting and communication skills, along with leadership, conflict resolution, judgement and decision-making skills are required.
Job Summary
The Family & Individual Counsellor will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate family-based intervention plans; participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of client service plans with the integrated case management team for parents and families of children and youth at risk. Referrals from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) are given first priority. Other clients may be self-referred or referred by other agencies and professionals but must reflect a child safety issue.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, prepare and conduct counselling services for parents and families of children and youth at risk individually or in family groups using therapeutic techniques drawn from theoretical frameworks such as family systems, client centered solution focused therapy.
Use appropriate assessment skills and tools to identify family and client needs and develop and implement client service plans tailored to meet these needs.
Will meet clients where they present in the process of engagement and problem recognition and will use a variety of techniques and skills to engage resistant and hard-to-engage clients.
Provide support and guidance to parents and families either individually, as a group or family.
Liaise with other agencies and professionals in the community such as; Family Support Workers, Child and Youth Workers, Social Workers, and school support staff and participate in case conferences, family development response and integrated case management meetings.
Will provide information on and referral to other community service

Duties:
The Women’s Information and Safe Home Support Worker is part of a team of staff that provides support to women and their children who have experienced or who are at risk of abuse, threats, or violence. The position involves planned On-Call Rota, weekday evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays providing emergency after-hours service. The workers provide crisis intervention, safety planning and emotional support, information on nature and effects of abuse, transportation and accompaniments to appointments and temporary, safe, and supportive accommodation. The workers help women to prioritize their needs and develop a short-term plan with goal of self-sufficiency and community connectedness. They provide referrals and advocacy and follow- up support.
Qualifications:
A Grade 12 diploma or an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with one year of related job experience. Other appropriate combinations of education and experience may be considered. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and some knowledge of women’s issues with a feminist perspective. Candidates must have time and willingness to receive training in program-specific work, prior to the onset of employment. A valid B.C. driver’s license is essential, with access to a reliable vehicle. This position requires union membership. Pursuant to provincial legislation, the applicant must agree to undergo a criminal records investigation.
Duties:
The successful candidate will provide a community-based program of outreach and engaging youth with challenging or risk-taking behaviours, offering education and support for healthy life choices. Provide short-term crisis intervention and counselling to at-risk youth between 13 and 18 years of age, and parent-teen mediation using conflict resolution strategies with families referred by the Ministry for Children and Families and Interior Health. Advocate for youth and support them with career planning, budgeting, and life skills training. Develop counsellor-directed support groups aiming to build self-esteem and problem-solving skills of the youth. Promote program awareness, and network with stake holders.
Qualifications:
Preferably an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with two years of related job experience. Other appropriate combinations of education and experience may be considered. Demonstration of experience in counselling youth. A valid B.C. driver’s license is essential. Pursuant to provincial legislation, the applicant must agree to undergo a criminal record investigation.

You will maneuver, stack, and load green coffee into the roasting hoppers, to get roasted to perfection! You will set up the roasting room, follow green bean recipes, clean equipment, and transport beans throughout the facility. From our Roasting Operators to our Packaging team, you will support our crew members to ensure we roast the best coffee in the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calculate our green bean needs daily, accurately, speedily, right down to the recipe.
- Manually load green beans into roasting hoppers, following a precise bean recipe.
- Safely transport coffee beans throughout our facility, via forklift.
- Follow our departmental checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Operate our Rotary Batch Mixer to create Post Roast Blends.
- Enter and track detailed records of coffee information and recipes into our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning System)
- Participate and engage in Roasting Department staff meetings. Connecting, problem solving, and bringing ideas for improvement.
- Clean and maintain our roasting equipment, ensuring it is operating as smoothly and safely as possible! This includes hoppers, pipes, de-stoners, bins, etc.
- Join our team in brewing and flavour evaluation.
- Provide Roasting Staging and Roaster relief coverage when needed, teamwork makes the dream work!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working in a physically demanding role or manufacturing environment. Roles focused on supporting a large team through cleaning and staging is an asset!
- An ability and desire to work cross-functionally to support all production departments.
- You have a narrow forklift operator certificate or are willing to be trained and obtain one.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25-50lbs, with help from our team and green bean tech!
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

- This is a full-time, permanent position in our Roasting department.

The Position:
This position involves all aspects of your carpentry toolbelt. From foundations to framing to finishing, you’ll be working with a dedicated team that cares as much about craftsmanship as you do.

- implement Deep Energy Retrofits including replacement of windows and doors, over-insulation, and air-sealing.

The Essential Qualifications:
- This position requires, at minimum, 3 years residential construction work experience as a carpenter.
- If you also have building science, green building, and/or energy efficiency expertise, that makes you an extra-great fit for this position!
- You are a journeyman (or woman) carpenter with at least 3 years residential construction experience.
- You may have education and/or experience in energy efficient construction and/or building science.
- You are capable of and have experience with all aspects of residential construction from foundations to finishing. In short, you can build a house!

- You have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

The District of Invermere has an opening for a Utility Clerk in the Finance Department which is a full-time position consisting of 35 hours per week.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the position assists in ensuring the financial solvency of the corporation by implementing systems, collecting utility fees, ensuring accurate payments on accounts, and providing exceptional customer service.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance, the Utility Clerk coordinates and maintains effective records and systems to support the issuance of utilities invoices, collections, and the issuance of receipts in accordance with the District’s bylaws and procedures. The Utilities Clerk also prepares reports and remittances associated with the above, assists with annual audit requirements, and assists with front counter inquiries and provides general clerical support to other departments.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Ensure accuracy of invoices, receipts, and adjustments.
· Apply monthly penalties (when required).
· Ensure collection of all outstanding utility invoices.
· Ensure coordination and accuracy of water meter readings.
· Use and maintain applicable software program to remotely read water meters.
· Update ownership and/or address information.
· Provide utility billing information to customers.
· Maintain direct debit list for payment of utilities.
· Ensure work orders are submitted to Public Works & Operations staff for utility accounts.
· Follow up on all work orders with Public Works & Operations staff.
· Create utility billing adjustments when required, for approval by the Supervisor.
· Prepare daily bank deposits.
· Process accounts receivable for business licenses.
· Serve as point of contact for accounts receivable for utilities inquiries.
· Maintain building permit, business license, and cemetery records for the District using VADIM software.
· Provide back-up support to other office functions as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Working knowledge of Local Government legislation and regulations (BC) and knowledge of Employment Standards Act and relevant human rights regulations.
2. Able to exercise sound judgement in the interpretation and application of related regulations, policies, and procedures (federal, provincial, and local).
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and team focused.
4. Demonstrated ability to handle a complex and varied workload, and able to work under tight deadlines.
5. Ability to complete tasks accurately and quickly with minimal supervision.

LICENCES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATIONS:
1. Three years of recent experience in a similar position would be preferred.

This position is within C.U.P.E. 2982 bargaining unit. The current wage rate for this position falls within the range of $32.05 – $32.97 per hour plus benefits as detailed in the Collective Agreement. The Utility Clerk position is expected to work 35 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
