Part-Time Summer Student Sales Associate

Invermere Thrift Store is seeking a student to work in our retail store during the summer of 2025.  This fun and fast-paced environment will provide you with the opportunity to gain skills in retail sales and merchandising within a large and vibrant volunteer organization. Duties will include cash handling, operating the POS, pricing, packing, assisting customers, creating displays, keeping the store clean and tidy as well as other general store duties. Museum Program and Historical Interpreter

This position has three parts to it so when you put them together a visitor’s experience will be enjoyable and fun so guests leave knowing more history than they thought they would know. Part 1 will involve the day-to-day tasks: –       opening and closing buildings daily, –       writing daily reports, –       handling the admission donations, –       mild cleaning of buildings, –       learning local history, –       attending weekly meetings to give status reports and raise questions, –       other small tasks that may arise. Part 2 will entail interacting with visitors: –       Welcome visitors upon their arrival, –       listen to stories they want to share, –       answer questions visitors may have as they tour through the buildings, –       record statistics on the number of visitors. Part 3 contains the FUN with children and families: –       Using some past programs, the candidate will organize, set up, execute and clean-up activities that can be held once a week or on a drop-in basis. –       Create a schedule of activities suitable for all ages, –       promote the activities through social media, handouts, etc., –       give instructions for participants to do the activities. Packaging Technician

You work best in a role where you can be on your feet, moving around quickly, and keeping busy with an upbeat environment and crew. You’re also curious. Curious about our coffee, our equipment, and all the processes in between. You are comfortable flying solo, but you’d rather work with a team. Because what’s better than one Packaging Technician? 20+ Packaging Technicians, obviously. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Not to brag, but our Packaging Line Technicians are the best baggers in the biz. Mainly due to their stealth ability to package, inspect, box, and prepare to ship the best coffee in the country, all while focusing on safety and efficiency. But it could also be due to their lightning-fast speed or their chameleon-like adaptability. In this role, you’ll learn and do all of the above while working closely with your team to perform daily clean-ups, room preparations, and relentless quality control. Being a Line Technician involves repetitive, physically demanding work in a team setting. But that’s not all. Our team exercise their minds, too. Over time, your leaders will train you on our equipment, helping you to become a master machine operator. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow standard operating procedures to bag and box our beans!
  • Inspect all finished products to ensure quality control standards are being met.
  • Identify and communicate defects and process errors that compromise quality and standard operating procedures.
  • Operate packaging equipment using HMI touch screen.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on some equipments.
  • Enter data into ERP software, allocating materials and maintaining inventory.
  • Perform daily clean-ups and room preparations.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures in place.
  • Participate in Kaizen/Continuous Improvement or any new initiative as required.
  • Willing to be cross-trained across different production departments and might jump in to help out in other areas as needed. It’s all about teamwork and versatility!

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in physically-demanding role, working on your feet 8 hours a day, lifting, bending, and twisting!
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing or production setting, and operating production equipment or packaging machinery is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer skills and data entry experience is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel is an asset. Open to learning and developing new skills is a must!

Culinary Creator AKA Baker (Seasonal)

Cookies, cakes, pain au chocolat – you can knead, caramelize, and sift your way through creating a variety of sweet treats. What’s better than a fresh cup of coffee? Having a little somethin’ sweet to pair with it, obviously. In this role, you will create an exceptional culinary experience for all our Café guests. This involves making a variety of our staple baked goods, creating new and innovative offerings, and supporting the Kitchen with prep and cleaning tasks as needed. In a nutshell, you bring joy to people the one way you know best – feeding their stomachs. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare, bake, and cook the finest food for our guests.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize baking cadence to ensure timely preparation.
  • Ensure all recipes are down to the cup, ounce, gram, and chocolate chip.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and prep lists to ensure a high level of quality.
  • Maintain a squeaky clean and safe, kitchen.
  • Create and contribute to a collaborative and energetic work environment. (psst…if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong!)
  • Support different functions of the Café and Kitchen as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS  MUST HAVES:
  • Love for food. Need we say more?
  • Experience working in a kitchen environment, specifically in a baking position
  • Commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe kitchen
  • Must take pride in creating high-quality and delicious menu items and a zest for bringing great coffee and great food together
  • Coffee breaks don’t take a break! We’re open seven days a week in the summer and are looking for team members with availability to work weekends and holidays.
ASSETS:
  • Solid knife chopping, mincing, slicing, and dicing skills
  • Education in pastry or culinary arts
  • Ability to accommodate dietary needs including vegan, gluten-free, and other allergies
  • Food Safe Level 1 or 2

Conveyancer/Legal Assistant

Rockies Law is looking for a legal assistant/paralegal for our Invermere, BC location to join our real estate conveyancing team. Prior experience with real estate conveyancing is an asset, however we welcome all applicants with a willingness to be trained for the position, regardless of experience. Located on Lake Windermere and nestled between the Purcell and the Rocky Mountains, Invermere is an ideal location for those interested in outdoor pursuits.
