Organization: Columbia Valley Food and Farm (CVFF) CVFF is a non-profit organization operating in the Columbia Valley from Canal Flats to Spillimacheen. Our mission is to support local food from farm to plate through education, collaboration, and advocacy. Our current focus is on reducing food waste by recovering surplus food from retail food outlets and farms; then redistributing it to those in need. We will work closely with other community organizations, local farmers, food producers, and food retail outlets to ensure the accessibility of nutritious food for all. We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to take our vision forward. Position Summary: The Nourish Columbia Valley Food Recovery Coordinator will play a crucial role in establishing and managing CVFF’s food recovery program. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining community partnerships that emphasize and enhance the collective capacity of individuals, organizations, and communities within the Columbia Valley to create a more just, equitable, and inclusive food system. The goal of this role will be to coordinate the collection, processing, and distribution of surplus food to vulnerable community members. The coordinator will work closely with local businesses, institutions, First Nations, and social service agencies to ensure the program operates efficiently and effectively. Health Food Market Sales Customer Service

Lumber Yard Associate

The Lumberyard Associate is responsible for maintaining customer service per company standards, the accurate and efficient loading and unloading of all lumberyard related transactions. Additionally, the Lumberyard Associates are responsible for maintaining the appearance of the yard and racks in an orderly and clean manner. They will consistently demonstrate the highest level of ethical conduct when dealing with customers, team members and management. Under the supervision of the Lumber Yard Supervisor, the duties and responsibilities of the Lumber Yard Associate include, but are not limited to, the following: Acknowledge all customers in the yard; Assist customers with loading of lumber and other various building materials; Displays good judgment when making decisions and solving problems-always considering what is best for the customer; Cooperate with others and work well as part of a team, for example actively participate in meetings, share ideas for improvement with management; Restock lumber and building materials as needed, while communicating restock needs with the appropriate person; Share information with others to help all associates learn and develop yard procedures and customer service skills; Assist with the unloading of incoming freight; Puts others needs and concerns ahead of their own when necessary or appropriate. Owns the problem-takes responsibility and action when necessary; Displays positive use of body language, verbal, and written communication when talking with customers, team members and management; Learn and adhere to all safety rules and regulations when operating saws, forklifts and other equipment; and Maintains a safe and clean work environment and demonstrates the upmost in safety around customers and other employees. Customer Service Associate

Position Summary The Customer Service Associate will assist customers with product selection, answer basic questions, and suggest various product options that are available. They will be responsible for ensuring prompt and proper resolution of customer queries by providing additional information or escalating/engaging others in the organization to provide a solution according to defined procedures.   • Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring timely and effective maintenance of equipment.
  • Development and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Establish targets in equipment reliability and service standards, monitor performance against these standards and determine root cause for appropriately addressing issues.
  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians and tradespeople, providing direction, feedback coaching and training.
  • Coordinate with Packaging and Roasting to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history and inventory management.
  • Ensure the maintenance teams is highly responsive and effectively supports Packaging and Roasting with maintenance related issues.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the team as well as following our food safe best practices.
Engineering Projects
  • Support the Engineering Manager and on occasion lead engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, develop project plan and allocate resources.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and costs benefit analysis for proposed projects.
  • Oversee and support the design, commissioning and installation of new equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and applicable company policies throughout entire project phases.
Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement department to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Stay update to date on latest industry trends, technology and best practices in manufacturing, maintenance and engineering.
  • Utilizing the Kaizen principles, foster a culture of continuous improvement with the maintenance team as well as with Packaging and Roasting.
Financial 
  • Establish and oversee the maintenance budget including cost benefit analysis to optimize human and financial resources and prioritize spending in alignment with Kicking Horse Coffee strategic plan.
  • Manage the department scheduling in alignment with labour budget and maintenance plans.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets for bi-monthly payroll processing.
QUALIFICATIONS  Education and Certifications 
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Project Management Professional certification is an asset.
Experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management including maintenance systems (work order systems, inventory management etc).

The role carries out the following duties: -Ensuring weekly work hours include being on site when the gallery is open and during special events; -Completing the promotions and advertising of gallery events using Canva, placement of posters around the Columbia Valley, updating exterior signage at Pynelogs, Facebook and Instagram posts etc.; -Setting up gallery shows including scheduling, curation and any support requirements; -Sourcing artists from a diverse background and executing exhibitor contracts; -Ensuring event permits, music, refreshments, sound system and/or chairs and any other requirements for gallery shows and special events are in place; -Managing all aspects of the opening and closing of the gallery; -Acting as the gallery host as needed and supporting the volunteers who act as gallery host; -Monitoring the main phone line, addressing calls or redirecting calls to the appropriate individual in a timely fashion; -Monitoring the curator email account and addressing/redirecting responses in a timely fashion; -Scheduling facilities maintenance and cleaning as required; -Ensuring the weekly Pioneer banner is published; -Acting as the after-hours gallery emergency contact as required (overtime compensation provided); -Between the cleaner’s weekly visits, ensuring regular upkeep of the gallery including bathroom upkeep, garbage disposal etc.; -Ensuring the outside deck remains appealing and represent CV Arts in a positive fashion; -Overseeing volunteers who work in the gallery; -Additional duties as assigned from time to time. You’ll help our people build the skills they need to be successful now and in the future. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and manage kick-ass people programs that enable all employees to contribute to our company’s success, in a way that ignites our culture.
  • Oversee recruitment initiatives. Engage talent, grow talent pools, and get creative in finding kick-ass people!
  • Support leaders on performance management and employee engagement, from coaching, to managing feedback channels, to creating action plans.
  • Regularly review, update, and continuously improve our processes, programs, and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or continuous education in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an HR generalist.
  • Data analytics, reporting and HR systems experience.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of BC Employment Standards.
  • Solid skills with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and maybe even Planner and SharePoint.
  • Experience in payroll will be an asset.
  • Willing and able to work out of our headquarters in Invermere, British Columbia.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • This is an onsite position located in Invermere, BC.
  • This position works Monday to Friday, 8-hour days. Your day will start anywhere from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and roll from there.
